Netflix has signed a five-year licensing agreement worth $500 million to co-exclusively stream The Walking Dead universe with AMC+, the companies announced. The deal covers the original series and its six spinoffs for international markets, extending Netflix’s rights that were set to expire. AMC Global Media CEO Kristin Dolan said during a second-quarter earnings call that “a lot of the major players” in streaming had expressed interest, but re-upping with Netflix was “the right choice.” The agreement ensures The Walking Dead franchise remains available on Netflix globally, while also driving subscribers to AMC+. Dolan emphasized that the co-exclusive arrangement benefits both platforms by maximizing audience reach. The $500 million price tag reflects the enduring popularity of the zombie apocalypse series, which has been a top performer on Netflix for years. Financial details were disclosed in the earnings report following the deal's announcement.
