Netflix is developing a series about the Indian Air Force's role in the 1999 Kargil War with Pakistan. The show, titled "Operation Safed Sagar," is created by showrunner Abhijeet Singh Parmar. Parmar met with Alka Ahuja, widow of Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja, who was killed in the war. According to the show's production, the most important prop is not a fighter jet but a wing badge. The actual operation saw IAF pilots fight at extreme altitudes up to 18,000 feet, facing unprecedented challenges. Early setbacks led to tactical reassessments and technological adaptations. Mirage-2000 aircraft equipped with laser-guided bombs proved highly effective, and their air attacks significantly aided ground troops in recapturing key peaks.
