A former lawmaker was arrested after firing several shots at a local government office on the outskirts of Bangkok, wounding a senior provincial official and his driver, police said Monday.
Two people were injured and taken to a hospital, according to Major General Dejrapee Kongdee, the police commander of Nonthaburi, the province bordering the Thai capital.
The suspected shooter, a former member of parliament, was taken into custody following the attack.
The shooting came just days after a teenager's killing rampage at a school in the same province. That attack was Thailand's deadliest in nearly four years and reignited debate over gun control.
