A 14-year-old student killed his grandparents at home before opening fire at his school near Bangkok, where he shot five people dead and wounded more than 30 others, police said. The teenager then took his own life, bringing the total number of dead to eight, including himself.
The attack took place at Debsirin Nonthaburi school in Nonthaburi province on the outskirts of Bangkok. Thailand's health department said nine of the wounded were in critical condition.
Police said the gun belonged to the teenager's grandfather. The suspect fired 26 rounds, and officers found another 34 rounds of ammunition on him.
No motive has yet been established. The attack is among Thailand's deadliest mass killings since 2022.
