Ajinkya Rahane has advised young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to be patient about his future in Test cricket, stressing that the pressures of the IPL and international cricket are completely different. Rahane's comments come after Sooryavanshi had a mixed debut tour of England against the hosts, followed by a strong comeback in the T20I series against Zimbabwe, where he finished as the Player of the Series. Rahane, who has also experienced the demands of both formats, credited his own resurgence for Chennai Super Kings in the 2023 IPL to a complete change in approach. He recorded an impressive strike rate of 172.48, showing renewed confidence and a fearless mentality backed by his team. At the age of 35, Rahane defied the usual narrative of decline and instead enjoyed a marked career revival through focused preparation.
