President Donald Trump has again announced a halt to strikes on Iran, saying that parameters for a deal to end the war have been reached. But previous halts since the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran on Feb. 28 have collapsed, with fighting resuming each time.

Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly said Trump has to try to find a way out of the war. Kelly also criticized the Pentagon's funding requests, calling the approach irresponsible and saying the administration wants a blank check.
Trump's claims about the conflict have faced scrutiny.
