Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has criticized the use of force against students protesting in Jharkhand, urging the state government to listen to their demands and resolve the matter immediately. In a post on X, Gandhi said the government must continue to hear the students out and address their issues without delay.
The protest, now in its 13th day, has seen students on hunger strike demand the resignation of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, whom they have called unfit for office. The protesters are also planning to gherao the state assembly to press their demands.
In a bid to draw attention to their cause, one protester dressed as the popular film character Pushpa, saying that students of Jharkhand will not bow down. The protest highlights growing tensions between student aspirants and the state government over recruitment and other issues.
