Qatar Denounces Iranian Strikes on Neighboring Gulf States
By TrendingWire Newsroom
Qatar has strongly criticized Iran for carrying out attacks against Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, describing the actions as a clear violation of their national sovereignty. In an official statement, Doha called the strikes a “dangerous escalation” that undermines regional stability and constitutes a blatant breach of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the principle of good neighborliness.
The attacks have heightened tensions across the Gulf region, where relations between Iran and Arab states have often been strained. Qatar, which maintains diplomatic ties with Iran, urged all parties to exercise restraint and respect the territorial integrity of nations. The Qatari government emphasized that such hostile actions threaten peace and security in the area.
As a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Qatar shares borders and maritime boundaries with several countries affected by the strikes. The region has historically experienced periods of conflict and proxy confrontations, making recent events particularly concerning for local governments. Analysts suggest that the condemnation reflects Qatar’s broader commitment to diplomatic resolutions and non-interference.
No immediate response from Iran has been reported. The international community is watching closely as the situation develops, with calls for de-escalation mounting. Qatar reiterated its support for peaceful dialogue and adherence to international norms to resolve disputes.
