A British couple jailed in Iran on espionage charges have ended their hunger strike after months of protest over their treatment, their family said Monday.
Lindsay and Craig Foreman, both in their early 50s, were detained in January 2025 while passing through Iran on a round-the-world motorbike trip. They were sentenced in February to 10 years in prison on espionage charges they deny. Craig Foreman later had two years added to his sentence for speaking to the media.
The couple began their latest hunger strike in May, protesting the "serious physical toll" their detention was taking. According to their family, Craig Foreman fasted for 93 days and Lindsay for 84 days. The couple have repeatedly complained of overcrowded and unsanitary conditions at the prison where they are held.
