The Delhi High Court has questioned why the entire city should have to endure disruptions from protests at Jantar Mantar, as it considered a plea by a Dalit Christian group seeking permission to hold a peaceful demonstration on August 10. The court directed the police to clarify their position on the request by Saturday. The Supreme Court is also examining other potential locations for protests.
Separately, the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) took out a march to the residence of T.G. Mohandas, who allegedly said in a YouTube video that he would have shot the Jantar Mantar protesters if he were in control. The march was in response to that comment.
