Russia said Monday that seven people, including three children, were killed and 40 injured when a Ukrainian drone struck a beach at the Black Sea resort town of Gelendzhik. Moscow called the attack a deliberate strike on civilians.
Ukraine did not immediately comment. Both Kyiv and Moscow say they do not deliberately target civilians in the war that Russia launched in 2022.
Social media videos verified by Reuters appeared to show a drone hitting a busy beach area near the town. Russia has accused Ukraine of stepping up attacks on civilian targets in recent weeks.
Separately, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed the country's chief peace negotiator to lead foreign intelligence.
