Bangladesh has warned India that a media event by former prime minister Sheikh Hasina could damage the positive momentum in bilateral relations. The message was conveyed by Humaiun Kobir, foreign affairs adviser to Bangladesh's Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, to Indian politician Dinesh Trivedi during a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office in Dhaka. According to a report from Bangladesh's official news agency, Dhaka also expects India to ensure that no one uses Indian territory to make political statements or carry out activities aimed at creating instability in Bangladesh. The comments reflect growing strain over Hasina's activities since she was ousted from power, with Bangladesh urging India to prevent any actions from its soil that could destabilise the country.
