Russia and Ukraine traded heavy attacks, leaving more than ten people dead as the war entered its fifth year. Russian officials said Ukrainian drones struck industrial and warehouse sites near Moscow and St Petersburg, killing five people. In a separate incident, local authorities in southern Russia said a drone hit a beach near the town of Gelendzhik, killing seven, and blamed Kyiv. In Russian-controlled Crimea, a soldier killed four people. The attacks follow a funeral on August 4 for Ukrainians, including three children, killed a week earlier in a Russian ballistic missile strike. Denmark's ambassador to the United Nations said Russian strikes had become more brutal. The exchange of fire has intensified, with no sign of slowing down.
