Heavy rain continued to affect Kerala on Monday, with many low-lying areas still flooded in the northern parts of the state and authorities keeping watch on riverbanks in Ernakulam district despite some relief from the downpours.
A total of 110 people remained in relief camps across Ernakulam district, where eight camps were still active—four in Muvattupuzha taluk and two each in Kunnathunad and Kothamangalam. Four other camps had been closed, according to officials.
The alert for riverbanks and low-lying areas remained in place as a precaution. Authorities have been monitoring the situation after days of heavy rainfall that caused waterlogging in several regions.
