Trump Media and Technology Group began selling faster access to President Donald Trump's posts on Truth Social on Saturday, Aug. 1, in a launch that has sparked accusations of corruption and questions about whether a sitting president can profit from his public platform.
The company's new subscription-based data service gives paying clients real-time access to posts from Trump and other high-profile accounts, with the steepest tier costing up to $100,000 a month. Trump's account is by far the largest on the platform.
Similar fast-access feeds are already sold by other social media companies. The new service raises the prospect of large profits for Trump Media and has been described as corruption benefiting the president. It also raises concerns about insider trading and using public office for private gain.
