US embassies across the Middle East on Saturday urged American citizens to be ready to leave the region, warning of a possible sudden escalation in the conflict with Iran. The alerts were posted online by embassies in Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. They advised citizens to be aware of unpredictable Iranian actions and possible attacks on US interests, and to prepare to depart if needed.
The warnings came a day after US President Donald Trump threatened to hit Iran "very hard" over alleged truce violations. Iran, in turn, warned countries supporting the US that they would face the "flames of war." The United States and Iran have been at war since February 28, and after a period of calm, tensions have risen again. Regional shipping and travel have been disrupted by the hostilities.
Meanwhile, India's central government has announced a four-month extension for real estate projects that meet certain eligibility criteria, recognizing the Middle East conflict as a force majeure event. Projects with completion dates on or after February 28, 2026, are eligible. State real estate regulatory authorities will evaluate individual projects and oversee the extension, which could mean delays in handing over properties to homebuyers.
