India have added Sarfaraz Khan to their Test squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka, with the middle-order batter stepping in for the injured Sai Sudharsan. Sudharsan is sidelined with a toe injury. Selectors said Sarfaraz's experience in the middle order would be valuable. The team comes into the series after a warm-up win, and the first of two Tests begins on August 15. The series is important for India's hopes of reaching the World Test Championship final. In the warm-up match, pace bowler Gurnoor Brar impressed with both bat and ball. The 6-foot-5 quick could be in contention for a Test debut in Galle.
