US President Donald Trump and other far-right leaders have seized on Spain's migration crisis in the enclave of Ceuta to push their anti-immigration agenda, even as more than half of the migrants who crossed over have returned to Morocco. Spain's interior ministry said half of the migrants had already gone back and released footage of people walking through a fence gate at the border. The ministry's announcement came on the same day that over half of those who crossed left voluntarily, according to France 24. NDTV World reports that 41 people have died and 60,000 migrants entered from Morocco. The situation has escalated into a geopolitical flashpoint, straining relations between Washington and Madrid and fueling online conspiracy theories about territorial claims, the Times of India said. US officials have also intervened in Spain's domestic politics over immigration policies, it reported.
