Amazon Prime Video has secured the international rights to the Baywatch reboot in a multi-territory deal covering much of Europe, Latin America, Canada and India. The agreement, brokered by Fremantle, includes Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Benelux, Switzerland, Austria, Turkey, Canada, Latin America, and India. The reboot, produced by Fox, is a revival of the 1989 original drama. As part of the deal, Prime Video also licensed all nine seasons of the original Baywatch series and its spin-off Baywatch Hawaii. Sky has already acquired the rights for the UK, meaning the streaming platform will serve as the primary home for the new series across a wide swath of international markets. The move expands Amazon's roster of classic and rebooted programming, giving subscribers access to the original beach drama and its modern update in one place. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
