The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., has been ordered to pay jazz musician Chuck Redd $252,000 in legal fees and costs after a judge ruled against the arts institution in its lawsuit over his decision to pull out of a performance.
D.C. Superior Court Judge Tanya M. Jones Bosier issued the ruling, determining that the center owes Redd the money following its unsuccessful legal action against him.
Redd had backed out of a concert after the Kennedy Center was rebranded to include Donald J. Trump's name. The organization sued him, but the lawsuit was unsuccessful.
Redd had previously hosted and performed at the Kennedy Center.
