A constable who was a key witness in a custodial death case linked to the Gudiya rape-murder has been suspended, prompting allegations of harassment from his family. The family has sought government intervention. In a separate development, the Kerala High Court has asked the state government and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to respond to a petition seeking to bar K.A. Ratheesh, the former managing director of the Kerala State Cashew Development Corporation and an accused in the ₹600-crore cashew import scam, from holding key government posts. Meanwhile, former MLA Anil Akkara has urged the state to transfer all vigilance files to the CBI in the Kerala LIFE Mission case, arguing that parallel investigations weaken the probe. He also called on the state to withdraw its Supreme Court plea and extend full cooperation to the CBI.
