The protests focused on opposition demands for Amit Shah to address the house over issues including the NEET paper leak and an alleged theft of donations at a Ram temple. The Lok Sabha was initially adjourned until noon amid the uproar.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the Speaker had asked him to convey the opposition's sentiments to Amit Shah and to consider the request for his presence in the house. The home minister was absent, prompting the opposition's continued protest.
The MSME Development Amendment Bill, passed without a debate, aims to address challenges faced by the micro, small and medium enterprises sector by improving administrative structures and facilitating payment mechanisms.
Separately, sources said the government has informed the Congress party that it intends to call a special parliamentary session on the 16th, 17th and 18th of the month, reportedly as part of a push on delimitation.
