Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday offered to answer any question in Parliament during a discussion running from 3 p.m. that day until 3 p.m. the next day, but opposition leader Rahul Gandhi rejected the offer, saying the opposition wants answers, not a lecture. The exchange came amid an opposition uproar over Shah's silence on student protests. Shah said the opposition could submit a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker at 2 p.m. if it wanted a discussion, provided it let the House run. Earlier, the Speaker told protesting opposition MPs that it was not right to tarnish the image of the House, before adjourning the House until 2 p.m. Gandhi said the opposition seeks accountability for alleged police actions during the protests.
