DiJonai Carrington of the Chicago Sky was ejected from Thursday's game against the Indiana Fever after a hard foul on Sophie Cunningham, but the guard insisted the contact was not intentional, while warning it might happen again because of how she plays.
Carrington was thrown out in the first quarter after fouling Cunningham as the Fever player went up for an open layup. The Sky went on to lose 86-90.
Sydney Colson, a former Fever player, showed support for Carrington after the incident, commenting on social media in her favor.
Carrington said the foul was never meant to hurt Cunningham, but added that her aggressive playing style means such plays could be repeated in the future.
