Former San Francisco 49ers running back Roger Craig revealed he has vascular dementia during his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction speech on Saturday. Craig, 66, delivered the address as a prerecorded video message while seated on stage in his gold jacket at Tom Benson Stadium. He waited until the end of his nine-minute speech to share the diagnosis. Craig had waited 28 years for the Hall of Fame call.
Drew Brees, also inducted, used his speech to remember former coach Sean Payton and the city of New Orleans. Brees joined the Saints in 2006 as New Orleans was still recovering from Hurricane Katrina.
