Saudi Border Guard arrests three Ethiopians in drug smuggling operation
By TrendingWire Newsroom
The Saudi Border Guard has arrested three Ethiopian nationals in the Asir region for attempting to smuggle a large quantity of drugs. The suspects were caught in the Raboua sector while trying to bring in 17 kilograms of hashish and 7,500 amphetamine tablets. Hashish is a cannabis product, and amphetamines are stimulant drugs that can be harmful when abused. The arrests were made during routine patrols by border security forces, who found the drugs in the suspects' possession. Authorities said the three men violated the Border Security Law. After completing the necessary legal procedures, the suspects and the seized drugs were handed over to the competent authority for further action. The Border Guard urged the public to help fight drug smuggling and trafficking by reporting any suspicious activity. People can call 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 in other parts of the Kingdom. They can also reach the Border Guard at 994 or the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at 995. Reports can also be sent via email to 995@gdnc.gov.sa. Authorities stressed that all information will be kept completely confidential, and informants will not face any legal consequences. This operation is part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to prevent illegal drugs from entering the country.
