Punjab's Assembly has passed a resolution opposing the Centre's E20 fuel policy, which mandates a 20% ethanol blend in petrol. Lawmakers raised concerns that the higher ethanol content could damage vehicles and questioned the accelerated rollout, alleging that external pressure influenced the decision. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which rules the state, has launched a nationwide campaign against the policy, demanding consumer choice and lower prices for blended fuel. Party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the move is aimed at pressuring the Modi government to roll back the policy, adding that the prime minister understands only the language of votes. The resolution reflects growing opposition to the policy from states and political parties.
