Rain lashed parts of Delhi-NCR on Tuesday, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert, with heavy to very heavy showers expected in some areas over the next three hours.
The IMD said one or two spells of very light to light rain were expected at most places during the forenoon to afternoon, with another spell towards the evening or night. Moderate rainfall and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day across the national capital. The heavy rain could cause waterlogging and traffic snarls.
The maximum temperature is forecast to stay around 33 degrees Celsius, slightly below normal and close to the seasonal average. Further showers are likely in several areas of Delhi-NCR. Only 0.5 mm of rain was recorded in Janakpuri on Tuesday morning.
