Thirteen people were killed when a small sightseeing plane crashed in southern Peru, authorities said, including seven Italian tourists. The aircraft went down shortly after take-off near the Nazca Lines, a UNESCO-listed archaeological site, according to local reports. All 13 people on board died: 11 foreign tourists and two crew members. The seven Italians were from the Brianza area in Lombardy and belonged to two families, an Italian news agency reported. They were on a trip to view the Nazca Lines. Peruvian authorities have suspended the company that operated the plane. The cause of the crash has not been determined, and an investigation is under way.
