Kerala's Sports Department has submitted a confidential inquiry report into the failed proposal to bring Lionel Messi and Argentina's football team to the state. The report was prepared under the supervision of sports department special secretary N Prasanth and handed to Chief Minister VD Satheesan for further action, Sports Minister O J Janeesh said.
The probe examined whether proper procedures and agreements were followed during the attempt to host the team. While reports suggest serious findings, Janeesh withheld details about the contents. The report has been marked confidential.
Former sports minister V Abdurahiman rejected allegations related to the failed visit, saying the government suffered no financial loss. The inquiry was ordered after the proposal to bring the Argentine team to Kerala in 2023 did not materialise.
