In a joint letter with Secretary General Mattias Grafström, he acknowledged mistakes and a lack of consultation. Despite the controversy, FIFA officials reiterated their full support for the organization's president.
Separately, Poland said its preparations to host the Women's Under-20 World Cup remain on schedule, despite fallout between UEFA and FIFA.
