A tanker was damaged when it was struck by an unknown projectile off the coast of Oman on Saturday, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO). The agency said it had received reports of two maritime incidents in the area. In the first incident, the vessel was hit about 11 nautical miles northeast of Oman's Lima, causing damage to its engine room and leaving it not under command. No casualties or environmental damage were reported. The incidents come as Iran has threatened to choke off shipping routes, and amid US media reports that President Donald Trump is preparing a fresh round of strikes against Iran.
