Kerala has issued a red alert for eight districts as heavy rains continue to lash the state, with authorities saying they are prepared to handle the situation. The Revenue Minister convened a meeting to coordinate rescue operations and assured that the situation is under control despite the rain havoc. In addition to the eight red-alert districts, three districts have been placed under an orange alert, while Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Alappuzha are under a yellow alert. The alerts signal varying levels of risk, with red indicating the highest threat of extremely heavy rainfall.
