The Trump administration has refunded close to $100 billion in tariffs to importers after the Supreme Court struck down the wide-ranging duties. By July, around 60 percent of the tariffs had been returned. The court ruled that existing law did not provide blanket authority for the tariffs. The administration is now seeking to impose new tariffs through other legal means.
In a separate decision, a federal judge acknowledged that a court order blocking the end of Haiti's Temporary Protected Status is no longer in effect after a Supreme Court ruling. This clears the way for the administration to terminate the program.
