Israel has charged a settler with the killing of prominent Palestinian activist Awdah Hathaleen in the occupied West Bank, marking the first such indictment since the 7 October 2023 attacks. Yinon Levi was charged on Thursday over the death, which occurred in July 2025, according to Israeli rights group B'Tselem.
Separately, local media reported an escalation of Israeli violence against Palestinians in the West Bank. In overnight raids, several people were wounded, property was damaged and water supplies were disrupted. In Khirbet al-Tuwaiba in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, settlers launched arson attacks, wounding residents including children and women, who also faced suffocation. Settlers fenced off Palestinian land in the northern Jordan Valley and stole water supplies from the towns of Madma and Asira al-Qibliya in Nablus, connecting pipelines to the main pump to transfer water to illegal outposts. At least three people were injured in settler attacks in Beit Furik, east of Nablus, with settlers storming the town under the protection of Israeli forces. In Al-Ram, north of occupied East Jerusalem, a young man was shot in the foot by Israeli forces and taken to hospital after receiving first aid from Palestinian Red Crescent crews. The Red Crescent also treated at least eight cases of assault during an Israeli military raid in Qalandiya refugee camp.
