A German court on Thursday sentenced a 25-year-old Afghan man to life in prison for a car-ramming attack in Munich last year that killed a two-year-old girl and her mother and injured dozens. The man, identified only as Farhad N., was found guilty of two counts of murder, 23 counts of attempted murder, and 22 counts of bodily harm, 19 of them serious. The court also determined that the offenses carried a "particular gravity of guilt," a legal designation that makes it significantly less likely he will be released on parole. The attack occurred in 2025, and the life sentence is the toughest possible punishment under German law.
