England have recalled Dan Lawrence, Ollie Pope and Sam Cook to their Test squad for the upcoming series against Pakistan, while Jacob Bethell has been ruled out of all three matches due to a right knee injury.
The first Test begins in Leeds on August 19, and Lawrence, a Surrey batting all-rounder, returns after two years to get the first chance at filling the void left by former captain Ben Stokes. Pope, also of Surrey, is back for the first two Tests. Jordan Cox has also been recalled and is expected to bat at number three, according to The Guardian. Joe Root will lead England in the series.
