The Locarno Film Festival has announced the winners of its Locarno Pro initiatives, which cover the co-production and development programs First Look, Alliance 4 Development and Open Doors. African projects were prominent among the honorees, as the Open Doors program marked its second year of focusing on Africa. Talemwa Pius's "A Vineyard for a Lobster" (Uganda), Mohammed Sheikh's "Accept My Plea for Burial" (Somalia) and Aseye Fiagbe's "Too Much Music" (Ghana) shared 50,000 in prize money. Other winners included "Chapa 100," "Spring Story" and "Yazz," which clinched top prizes across the various program strands.
