Justice Smith and Charlie Gillespie have been cast in the lead roles for season two of the hit series Heated Rivalry, a decision that has sparked criticism and public responses from the actor and from Rachel Reid.
Smith, 31, will play Harris Drover, while Gillespie will take on the role of Troy Barrett. They are joined by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie in the cast. The show airs on Crave and HBO Max.
The casting was announced Aug. 7. In response, Smith said he was moved by the support and love he has received. Rachel Reid, who faced criticism over the casting choices, also responded, expressing confidence in her decisions.
