Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay convened a meeting on delimitation, but the state's principal opposition parties, the DMK and AIADMK, boycotted the session, dismissing it as a "farce" and "drama." The two parties, however, said they were not completely opposed to delimitation. The meeting was held, though no details of its proceedings were released.
In a separate development, the Southern Districts Farmers Association has voiced support for the chief minister's initiative to link the Godavari, Cauvery, and Gundar rivers. The association urged the central government to take up the case and implement the project in full, saying it would enhance surface water resources in the state.
