A Zero FIR has been registered against Noida resident Ruchika Singh for allegedly using abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The complaint was filed by a Ghaziabad resident after a protest video surfaced online, police said.
The case was lodged under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for public mischief. As the alleged incident occurred in Delhi, the FIR was filed at a Noida police station and later sent to the Parliament Street police station in New Delhi for further investigation, according to police.
Singh, a salon employee, resides in Sector 168, Noida. Saurav Das of the CJP questioned when making such remarks became a criminal offense.
