Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the Sony and Marvel film starring Tom Holland, has set the record for the biggest domestic opening weekend in box office history, earning $360 million in North America. The movie surpassed the previous benchmark of $357 million set by 2019's Avengers: Endgame, a figure not adjusted for inflation. The film's global debut reached $927 million, making it the second-largest worldwide opening ever. In South Korea, the web-slinging sequel dominated, generating $16.9 million from 2,252,930 admissions across 2,409 screens over the Jul. 31–Aug. 2 weekend and capturing an 81% market share, according to data from KOBIS, the Korean Film Council's tracking service.
