Jury selection began Monday in the murder trial of Duane 'Keffe D' Davis, a former street gang leader accused of orchestrating the 1996 drive-by shooting death of hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur. Davis, 63, has pleaded not guilty to a single count of murder with a deadly weapon with intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang. If convicted, he faces life in prison without parole.
Shakur was gunned down near the Las Vegas Strip almost 30 years ago. Family members of the rapper were among supporters who gathered outside the Las Vegas courthouse Monday morning. Jury selection could continue through much of this week.
