A Surat-based RTI activist has called for an investigation into the finances of Bhagwanrao Dipke, father of Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Centre for Justice and Peace (CJP). The activist questioned how Dipke could afford his children's education in the United States on a reported monthly salary of Rs 60,000.
The activist has filed complaints with the Election Commission and tax authorities regarding the CJP's status. He also raised questions about a Rs 1 crore fund pledged by senior lawyer Kapil Sibal, which was promised as legal aid.
Urging an inquiry into Dipke's assets, the activist alleged that the family may hold disproportionate wealth. The request also seeks scrutiny of the legal aid pledged and the overall financial dealings of the CJP founder's family.
