The Zurich Film Festival has unveiled the first gala titles for its upcoming edition, running September 9 to October 10. The lineup includes world premieres of two major German films: Andreas Dresen’s ‘Love, After All’ and Doris Dörrie’s ‘How Can I Help?’, both set for their first screenings at the festival. They are among 10 titles selected for the Gala Premieres section.
Other highlights include the European premiere of Peter Farrelly’s ‘I Play Rocky’, starring Anthony Ippolito as Sylvester Stallone, with Matt Dillon and Stephan James also in the cast. The film is described as an Oscar contender. Also featured is ‘Josephine’, starring Channing Tatum and Gemma Chan, which is likewise positioned as a potential awards contender.
Additionally, the selection includes ‘111 – Echoes From…’, which Variety calls Switzerland’s most anticipated film. The festival’s full gala lineup was announced ahead of the event, which will take place in Zurich later this year.
