A video has surfaced showing Prajwal Revanna, a rape convict and former Member of Parliament, using a mobile phone inside his prison cell in Bengaluru. The footage follows a raid during which officials recovered a 5G smartphone and other items from the cell. The password-protected device was found to contain WhatsApp and Netflix, according to officials. Alongside the phone, authorities also found a white charger, a blue pocket notebook, and a black SanDisk pen drive. A prison official has been suspended for alleged dereliction of duty in connection with the incident. Revanna is currently serving a life sentence after being convicted in a rape case. The discovery of the phone raises questions about security protocols within the prison, as inmates are typically barred from possessing personal electronic devices. Authorities have not yet commented on how the device was brought inside or whether further disciplinary action is expected.
