Ari Emanuel's events company Mari has agreed to acquire ATG Entertainment, the theater giant behind productions including Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Wicked. The deal with current owner Providence Equity Partners is subject to regulatory approval, Mari said. Financial terms were not disclosed, though the Financial Times previously reported that ATG had been valued at £4.5 billion ($6 billion).
ATG operates 70 venues across the U.K., U.S., Germany and Spain, including 10 on London's West End and seven on Broadway. The company's business also spans production and ticketing.
In a separate announcement, Tom Felton will extend his run as the adult Draco Malfoy in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child for an additional two months. Producers said it would be the final extension for the actor, who played the child Draco in the Potter films.
