The first note, sent a day after Nancy Guthrie vanished, was addressed directly to Savannah Guthrie. In it, the writer said she perished shortly after being taken, according to authorities. The second note was also made public, though no additional details about it were provided.
Investigators believe the notes' distinctive linguistic style may help trace the suspected kidnapper. They are asking anyone who recognizes the writing to come forward.
