Palestinians in Gaza are skeptical of the latest peace plan, expressing little hope that a ceasefire will end the war, even as the Gaza Board of Peace has outlined a roadmap for the territory's governance.
The board, in a statement posted on X, said Israel must fully complete, without delay, all its commitments under a peace deal signed in October, particularly the cessation of military operations.
It also said Hamas and all other Palestinian factions had agreed to hand over all civilian governance and security functions in Gaza to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG). The board asserted that NCAG would enjoy full independence in carrying out its duties, with factions refraining from interference during the transitional period. The committee would maintain the continuity of civilian institutions and public services after taking full responsibility in Gaza.
Meanwhile, Palestinians in Gaza voiced doubt about the plan, with many saying enough was enough and questioning whether it would bring lasting change.
